Steelhead Fishing Report Lanse Keweenaw Bay

fisyh1.JPG

What a week! 2 feet of snow-then 70 degrees the next day. Low water was a problem. But not anymore. Now it is just the opposite. The good news is as the water levels fall this coming week the fishing could be great. there are steelhead in the area. Fish are being caught off the breakwater and marina by the sport shop . As usual it seems to be the best in the early morning or evening. A kind of a mixed bag is being used for bait. Spoons, Spawn and crawlers all seem to be working.Tip-Best bet use 2 lines. Set one on the bottom with crawlers or spawn and cast spoons with the other.

Yeah, it’s great to fish when water level is low. Here in our place, we sometime just walk in the seabed when it is low-tide and we can catch medium sized fish :)

Almost every weekend I go with my friends boat on the river to fishing, make barbecue and enjoy the charms of nature. Usually we go in the Friday evening and return in Sunday evening. The right enjoyment of wich no.

I love to fish because I find it therapeutic. When we were young, my younger brother and I would go fishing to a nearby river. We don’t talk often so the fish won’t get disturbed but the quiet hours that we spent with nature were our best bonding moments. Now, that we’re older we can’t go fishing as often as we want. Maybe next summer…

Me and my dad love to fish. I’m 21 now and we fish the south east lakes and coast. A must try is Myrtle Beach coastal area including Murrel’s Inlet.

Fishing in a low level water is really a problem specially when you are riding a small boat while fishing. Anyway good luck your fishing habit and I hope that you can catch as many as you much need.

That’s one of the best ways to fish, I tried that the other day and caught more fish than usual. Can be a little stressful at times trying to work two fishing poles, but the outcome is better and you have more dinner on the table! :)

The bay leaves you buy are from the Bay Laural tree. There are several types of Laural. All Bay leaves are from the Laural but not all Laural leaves are Bay.

You should remove the bay leaf if you use a whole one. If you only have crushed bay leaves, you can place them in a tea ball or tea strainer (little metal ball for brewing loose-leaf tea), cook it in the pot and then take the ball out before serving.
